“So, yeah, given that the world is either swallowing up whole countries, the ice caps are melting, Dane Cook is still alive and the NFL is probably not going to play next year I thought it might be “fun” to do a “soundtrack to the apocalypse.” I have to admit I stumbled across this article, and it got me thinking. Basically I didn’t like any of the suggested sound tracks cause when the world really goes for realz I think I’m going to be listening to OFWGKTA or Mastodon or something egregiously aggressive like those.
Anyways, just a thought. I’ve always been a big apocalypse guy - can’t wait for the real thing!”
And typically, bag of dick humor ensues in our email chains here at MV…

Three reasons to begin an unhealthy obsession with The Greenhornes:
1) Hailing from Cincin, OH, the current members are Craig Fox on lead vox and guitar, Jack Lawrence on bass, and Patrick Keeler on drums.
Those names sound familiar? Well they should. The Greenhornes have been on a hiatus since members Lawrence and Keeler have been sidetracked with a couple of projects known as The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather.
2) Thirdman Records have announced that this legendary garage-rock group will be releasing a new album “****” on October 26th.
2.5) They’ll be ringing in the New Year on December 31st with The Black Keys at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago.
3) Have you heard their collaboration with Holly Golightly from the Broken Flowers soundtrack?
Although there’s only 47 tracks listed here, we think its a pretty well-rounded (and not too cliche) selection…share your thoughts..or, even better, share your own iMix with us.
