Wilhelm and the Dancing Animals: The Forests Have No Name
For the last few years indie pop/rock has been dominated by keyboards, synth and a bunch of innovative recording techniques. However, Spain’s Wilhelm and the Dancing Animals have decided start fresh, back to basics infused with acoustic spanish style guitar riffs and simple upbeat percussion. Can you say refreshing? I know I can.

Delorean
If you’ve been to Barcelona then you know that its super laid back ie people smoking hash on the beach, in Gaudi Park EVERYWHERE bars, clubs, beach. You name the place people are “relaxing” to chilled out electro pop. (Only Europeans would find electronic music relaxing.) So it comes as no surprise that this group Delorean who cleverly named their last album Subiza is from my favorite city in all of Spain, Barcelona.
When I heard Delorean I automatically thought of one of my favorite up and comer from Southern Florida, MillionYoung. As it turns out so did Popgun Party because they have booked him to open for Delorean on June 5that Glasslands Gallery in Brooklyn. I’m a huge fan of MillionYoung and Popgun has never failed to disappoint me with their lineups. So if you’re in the area get there early cause its sure to be packed. Favorite tracks include “Real Love” featured above and “Stay Close” and which you can hear on their MySpace page along with a bunch of fantastic original remixes and songs.
