Ah, this takes me back to my industrial days. The Soft Moon categorizes themselves as neo-post-punk but with at least two dudes on the synthesizer, its like a flashback to 1990 and you just heard Nine Inch Nails’ Pretty Hate Machine album for the first time, except with a few modern tweaks.
Luis Vasquez and his band bring their dirty electronic sound to the present day with a focus on their live show. Ron Robinson does the visuals for the band, aiming to bring you a “full sensory experience”. Check it out!
I’d have to say I’m super excited for the up coming EP from Trent’s new band, How to Destroy Angels. I’m a long time NIN and Trent fan, and I’m pumped to see him doing something new after the end of NIN. Teaming up with his wife, Mariqueen Maandig from West Indian Girl, I think the new track definitely is representative of Trent’s typical style. I was slightly disappointed, however, because it’s basically the mellow, new age NIN with a female voice. I hope to see something different and unique out of this duo when more music is released this summer.
