Eminem and Lil’ Wayne served as an amped-up counterweight to a very laid-back Jeff Bridges on the final Saturday Night Live of 2010.  First, the two rappers performed their collaboration “No Love” (which has a natural SNL connection). Then they took separate turns on the mic, Eminem with a Pink-less “Won’t Back Down” and Weezy busting out his brand new “6’7”“.

Lil’ Wayne feat. Cory Gunz - 6’7” //

He’s only been out of jail a few weeks, but Weezy has already dropped a sick new Harry Belafonte-sampling track that many are saying could end up on Tha Carter IV. It’s so good that we can excuse the fact that the refrain is “6 foot, 7 foot…” but it’s title means 6 feet, 7 inches.  Same difference.

He’s finally free: released from Rikers this morning after serving 8 months out of a year-long sentence. There are a number of really good ways to celebrate this, but the ones you can do during the work day generally limit you to reading, listening, and concealing the gulliness of your spirit behind a professional facade. In that spirit, try listening through esteemed hip-hop blogger Noz’s recently collected list of the “100 Greatest Lil Wayne Songs of All Time” for Complex.com. And if for some reason you thought it was OK to sleep on Wayne’s most recent release, I Am Not A Human Being, go cop that immediately ‘cause it’s ill. The Greatest Rapper Alive is a free man; Bill Clinton is excited and you should be too.
