ASAP ROCKY (PROD. BY CLAMS CASINO) // “WASSUP”

ASAP got a Clams beat and they sound great together — it’s a successful marriage of styles between a producer who’s been ubiquitous in Bay-area low-fi hip hop and an emerging New York rapper with a wavy flow.

ASAP Rocky, the young Harlem resident with gilded teeth, has been getting a fair bit of internet attention for his recent free EP-length mixtape, Deep Purple, on which he flexes his uptown swagger in the spirit of (the reuniting?) Dipset and (the beloved and incarcerated) Max B, whose sing-song-y rapping is clearly an inspiration. The above track is not featured on Deep Purple, but “Get High” (below), featuring DEEFERG, is from the tape.
