Xavier Rudd - Koonyum Sun

Fact: When I first heard ‘Time to Smile’ on the radio I thought it was a remix of a song from the Crazy Heart soundtrack. 

Fact: The first fact is complete baloney. However, the ‘Dude’ behind this uplifting fusion of African and Australian folk rock gives Jeff Bridges a run for his money.

Fact: This dude was voted PETA Australia’s Sexiest Vegetarian for 2007 (RHCP’s Anthony Keidis was crowned one of the U.S. Sexiest Vegetarians Alive in 2008).

April 19th, 2010 marks the release of Xavier Rudd’s sixth studio album Koonyum Sun. This oz singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist has also developed a reputation for his incredible live performances that are worth checking out — Let Me Be and No Woman No Cry (Bob Marley cover) off his 2003 album Solace are available for download here. Rudd’s dij set up and slide guitar display are enough to make a lumberjack giddy with excitement like a sophomore being asked to her high school prom by the all-star quarterback…!
