Lisa Mitchell - Oh! Hark!

Little Rhode Island is under water right now. Not unlike the movie with Kevin Costner - which I recall only liking because it had the chick from that seal movie, Andre. Anyway, enough about the weather. Lets talk Lisa Mitchell.

This 19-year old Albury-native (for those of you not familiar with geography in the southern hemisphere, Albury sits in the sticks on the border of Victoria and New South Wales), found fame as a finalist on Australian Idol at the rife old age of 16.

Since then, this small-town indy-folk gem has released two EPs - Said One to the Other (2007) and Welcome to the Afternoon (2008) - and has been showcasing her stunning 2009 debut album Wonder alongside industry heavy weights on the Oz and UK festival circuits.

Oh! Hark! doubles as her latest single and the name of her upcoming tour. Unfortunately, she won’t be hitting the shores of the US at this point. However, we vagabonds still recommend you purchase Wonder from iTunes - Coin Laundry is a personal favourite  (Yes, favourite with a “u”).
