Breakfast in Fur //

There is a lot of what I would imagine the sounds children’s aluminum toys from the 1950’s would have made (whiz, bang, tinker) laid over the lead singer, Dan Wolfe’s whispering vocals. Mix that with some beautiful instrumentation and you get what sounds like a expertly composed tale you would share with a group of eager children sitting wide eyed and crossed legged on the carpet in front of you during story hour.

It’s really the type of music that lets you close your eyes and drift in to a world of your own. This is the of music I love and appreciate especially when living in such a 24 hour stimulating city. Below you can stream their self titled EP and also download it for free on their Bandcamp page. They have a pretty cool Tumblr blog going on as well. As an extra bonus they are also part of a recently released Neil Young Tribute Album, Headed For The Ditch, which is also a free download and features some of my favorite artists.
