Mikky Ekko

I found this little gem of a man on a music/art blog called the carkids.  This man has a voice like an angel and I have grown quite fond of him.  His album, “Strange Fruit” not sure if its an ode to the great Billy Holiday.  In his song “Sedated” he sings “We walk walk walk on our hands hands hands. We are strange fruit.” So probably not, but who really knows.

What I do know is that Mr. Ekko can sing the hell out of a harmony. I would be willing to let him serenade me any night. The manor in which he is able to harmonize adds an unexpected depth and texture to all of his songs. The song above, “I Love You (I always have)” is a heart felt excellent representation of those killer harmonies I was referring to.  I would also suggest listening to “Sedated” and “It’s only you” some other favorites.  Mikky Ekko you are my new Post-Pop King!
