Sometimes member of the always ethereal Xiu Xiu, Sam Mickens has been pumping out solo material consistently for the last few years, borrowing sounds from his more well-known mentor while combining them with his personal brand of theatrics and fantasy.
“One Final Round”, the first single off his new release One Final Round / To Victory or Death is our favorite of his solo efforts, blasting through our speakers with brass revelry and an impressive, effeminate vocal bravado.
