tUnE-yArDs - “My Country” (Music Video) //

Somehow Merrill Garbus found a whole bunch of children who are just as insane as she is. The results are delightful.

Dr. John - Locked Down //

Yes, that is Dan Auerbach in the video teaser above. Yes, he did produce the new Dr. John masterpiece. A legendary match made in rock heaven.

Half a century on and the Night Tripper has reembodied his ‘50’s boogie-woogie-bluesy-voodoo-rock that put him in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Listen to the single ‘Revolution’ below and you’ll be hooked.

Buy it now, buy it proud.

GOTCHA COVERED: Japandroids - Jack The Ripper (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Cover)//

It’s such a great feeling when someone really nails a cover. Like when Johnny Cash covered NIN’s “Hurt.” You’re lying if you claim to have not shed a tear to that one.

Although this one may not be as emotionally poignant as Mr. Cash’s cover the Japandroids nailed this slow burning cover of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds “Jack The Ripper” no questions asked. You can just feel that punk rock swagger dripping off this track.

Hundred Waters - Me & Anodyne//

I have to say that this is one of my favorite if not my over all favorite album to come out so far in 2012. It’s hard to imagine that Hundred Waters has only been playing together for one year. It’s so organic yet so polished and their live show is mesmerizing. They’ve hit it right on the nose in every single aspect.

If you’re like me and you can’t get enough of lead singer Nicole Miglis’ voice I have just the thing for you, her solo album! It really deserves a post all it’s own, but because I’m short on time this post will have to be enough to convince you to click the link. Hundred Waters dropped on Feb 29th. Grab it now from Essential Sound Records and have no regrets later.
